Re-Creating the Original Star WArs in plastiC

Early on, when I began my toy photography journey, I had a vision of the entire original Star Wars film re-made through this medium. I quickly realized the scope of this project was beyond one person and so I assembled a team of fellow toy photographers and model makers to help me bring this vision to life.

Spread across the globe, in different time zones and countries, there were several challenges that I faced in directing this project. Including a language barrier that required communication through google translate.

Through routine meetings online, I directed my team and assigned scenes that played to their strengths. It was important to me that each of us had an equal work load and no one person was going to take all of the spotlight.

Scene by scene, we meticulously recreated the film. Frame accuracy was the goal but sometimes we realized that certain moments translated better to still images with some artistic liberties taken. And so adjustments were made where needed.

Presented below are a few samples of my contributions.

If you’d like to check out the work in it’s entirety you can find the original Imgur post here.

Gratefully, our project was featured on Kotaku
